Closed doors

would be nice for a new cupboard in the kitchen.
Made to measure is my intention for this project
(and a cleaner outlook)
There is a couple of old doors remaining from another one
So I'm into drawing.....and persuading!!
All for a good cause...less polishing seems to
be a great argument to this one.

❤ Wish me luck ❤

Make me pretty

the toolbox is closed for now
but
the box with paintbrushes just opened up
time for some serious hours (and days) with putty and linseed oil
Then the marble counter top
 The returning daylight is merciless,
but so am I working my spatels and brushes.
My intention is to match the old cupboard in the kitchen,
painted many years ago in a soft greyish tone
Handles and knobs will also be the same
I will be awarded a home cooked Japenese dinner tonight,
feels like my work today it's worth it

and
there's a funny combination of aromas
in my kitchen right now!

No kidding....

the famous Nordic daylight
is back......
Today, on a sunny Sunday morning at 10 am, Feb 26th
It's rather hurting one's eyes
Today it feels like the we're at open air,
no camera in the world will do justice to this brightness!!

By heart...

ty just nu idag
så köpte han
en liten ros i en blomsteraffär
En ros röd som blod så att jag förstod
att det är mig som han håller kär.

Valentines dinner for two,
now cooking!

Perfect day for a spa....

     Hairdresser   ✂
   Workout session
     Facial treatment  ✓
The Polar icy winter hit us a couple of days ago, a little late this year!

and I'm truly grateful for some nice hot water and a tub.
The antigue towel bar needed an extra piece of mold,
shaped as an identical copy, to fit onto the side of the tub.
Tricky slippery little thing working that saw!!

A day for romance...

it may not be Valentine's yet!
but I better grab this day
and enjoy the splendour of my fav Amaryllis,
before it's all over for this year!

Building an alley....

is perhaps not what one had in mind!
At least we didn't,when starting up
the project at the end of the summer,
building an extra workshop for carpentry!
Nor did we expect the immense number of hours
to be spent scraping off the layers of paint from these
late 1700 century doors.....the cold made us stop for now.
The family grapevine has graciously
been saved, now climbing a new wall.
The narrow alley has been equipped with a large lantern from France.
The weather is tedious, sloppy wet snow dripping from the roofs.

What a difference a door makes

Today at lunchtime......
with a recuperated window merged into the old door
This is pretty much a year ago.....

X-mas holidays are over
and it's time to go back to work!
