The season of Advent is coming up. The tradition of lighting a candle each sunday ( 4 sundays up 'til Advent Sunday) is very significant and an old tradition in Sweden and might not be very well known to many of you international readers. There are even specific candleholders used for this very purpose. This is the tradition even if not being an active church member.
This time of year is very dark in Sweden and the tradition has become a natural element and also brings forward a lot of convivial time with friends. There are many of us getting together for some mulled wine ( glögg in swedish) and ginger cookies.
I am, unfortunately short of time and therefore my french candelabra serves it's purpose all around the year. Now, is the time to light the candles one by one.
